Where Do I Belong?

St. Benilde is a parish family made up of individuals and families from all walks and stages of life. Some of our families are mom, dad, and a school bus full of kids. Some of our families are grandparents whose families live somewhere else. Some of our families are just getting started - single young adults, engaged couples, new parents getting ready for a baptism - and some of our families are separated or divorced parents trying to be the best they can. Some of our families are made up of grandparents bringing up their grandkids - and some of our families are adult children with elderly parents. Some of the folks who come to ROOTED nights are widows or widowers or single college students.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN THE JOURNEY, ROOTED nights are designed to have something for everyone. When you arrive, everyone gets a chance to see and experience the teaching for the night. Then we will break out into small groups specifically geared to your age group. Everyone gets the same teaching - but it's  delivered in a manner appropriate to your particular stage in life.

This year we are hoping to offer a nursery for 1-3 year old children. To make this possible, we are asking parents with children in this age group to sign up to work the nursery on a rotating schedule. For more information, contact Samantha Keller at [email protected].

Those in Pre-K4 and Kindergarten can participate our program by joining their parents for the monthly ROOTED Nights. They will begin the afternoon by joining in a fun introduction to the theme of the night. Afterwards, there will be a "breakout session." Parents will stay in one group to grow in their faith, while their children are invited to join others their age to grow in their faith, regarding the same topic. Then everyone will come back together for a community meal.

1st & 2nd graders can participate our program by joining their parents for the monthly ROOTED Nights. They will begin the afternoon by joining in a fun introduction to the theme of the night. Afterwards, there will be a "breakout session." Parents will stay in one group to grow in their faith, while their children are invited to join others their age to grow in their faith, regarding the same topic. Then everyone will come back together for a community meal.

NOTE: 2nd graders are also invited to participate in our monthly Built Up Nights designed to prepare them for their first Reconciliation and First Communion. Similar to Rooted, these gatherings take place once a month following the 4:00 PM Sunday Mass. At lease one parent/guardian must attend Built Up Nights with the child preparing for sacraments.

Parents will stay in one group to grow in their faith, while their children are invited to join others their age to grow in their faith, regarding the same topic. Note: 11th graders are also invited to participate in our monthly Built Up Nights designed to prepare them for their Confirmation. Similar to Rooted, these gatherings take place once a month following the 4:00 PM Sunday Mass.
