The Bishops of Louisiana have designated Friday, June 2, 2017, as a day of prayer and fasting for protection during the upcoming hurricane season. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us!

All volunteers who have ongoing contact with minors, even one unsupervised contact with minors, and all who participate in an overnight event, must attend Sate Environment Training prior to volunteering for the first time and every three years thereafter. Safe Environment Training will be held at St. Benilde on June 1, 2017 at 2 PM. The location will be posted that day.

The Parish Office will be closed on Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, May 30th at 9:00 am.

Registration is open for the St. Benilde Men’s Club Summer Cabbage Ball Program. It is open to boys and girls currently in grades pre-K4 to 12th. Games will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights, from May 23rd to June 29th.The registration fee includes insurance, free icees after each game, and a team shirt. Forms may be found in the school and parish offices and on the parish website at www.stbenilde.org.

The Rosary & Altar Society and Vacation Bible School will host Hospitality Sunday on the weekend of May 20th and 21st. Please make plans to join us after Mass for coffee, donuts and fellowship.

The second collection on the weekend of May 20th and 21st is for our Repairs and Maintenance Fund. Monies are currently being used to complete repairs to the roof and air conditioning system in Church. Thank you for your continued generosity as we make much needed repairs to our aging buildings.

Please join us on Saturday, May 13th, for a special morning of activities to commemorate the appearance of our Blessed Mother to the children of Fatima 100 years ago. 8:45 AM Mass; 9:25 AM Breakfast Buffet in Teen Center; 10:00 AM Movie “The 13th Day;” 11:00 AM Break/Brief Discussion; 11:20 AM Rosary; 11:50 AM Final Comments/Prayer. A Six-Part marriage enrichment program inspired by St. John Paul II’s “Theology of the Body” will be offered at St. Benilde. “United in Love United in Christ” will meet on six consecutive Thursdays, from April 27th through June 1st, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Teen Center. Please call the Parish Office for more information or visit the parish website.

The Adoration Chapel will be closed from 7:30 AM on Friday, May 5th until 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 7th for carpet cleaning. Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we continue to make improvements to our Chapel.

On Sunday, May 7th, we will have our parish May Crowning at the 11 AM Mass. All are invited to bring flowers to adorn our Blessed Mother. The children of the parish will be invited to join Fr. Cooper in the sanctuary for the homily. Please invite your family and friends for this special Children’s Liturgy.
